Iya-no-Kazurabashi Bridge

Nestled within the rugged terrain of Tokushima Prefecture, the Iya-no-Kazurabashi Bridge can be found suspended high above the Iya River within a secluded mountain village. Once the main means for people to cross the river of the Iya Valley, this iconic bridge has long been a symbol of adventure and exploration in the region, standing as a testament to both human ingenuity and the raw beauty of nature.

At 45 metres long, 2 metres wide and suspended 14 metres above the water, it is Japan’s largest surviving suspension bridge of its kind. Made entirely of sturdy vines handwoven together with expert craftsmanship, the bridge sways gently with each step, offering a thrilling yet exhilarating experience for intrepid travellers.
