Japan’s Friendliest Fish

NATURE: Japan’s Friendliest Fish

56 feet beneath the sea, off the coast of Tateyama, Japan, scuba diver Hiroyuki Arakawa has forged a 30 year friendship with a kobudai fish. Enjoying the tranquility of their underwater world, Hiroyuki and Yoriko have built a unique relationship beneath the waves, meeting each time by a sunken shrine gateway that Hiroyuki installed as Yokiko’s home. Their friendship runs deep, so deep in fact that Yoriko owes Hiroyuki her life after he nursed her back to health following a life threatening injury.
