Japan’s Seasonal Sweets

For six generations, the Fukushima family has mastered the intricate art of Japanese confectionery known as wagashi. Reflecting the delicate beauty of nature, these ornate sweets are shaped to resemble traditional flower motifs and change with the shifting seasons. Using designs that date back to the Edo period, Fukushimaya create over 200 varieties of sweets throughout the year, and in doing so keep a deeply-rooted Japanese art form alive.
