As consumers become increasingly health-conscious and the global gaze turns east in the run-up to the Olympic Games, Japanese food – from Sushi to Soba, Yakitori to Yoshoku – has become one of the fastest growing food trends in the West.

But before you start hunting down the latest Japan-inspired food fad, we’re here to tell you that you won’t have to.
