DISCOVER: East Meets West

July 22nd marks 30 years since ANA, Japan’s largest 5-Star airline, first connected London with Tokyo. Whether it’s to experience the bustling city life of central Tokyo or off-the-beaten-track secret spots, ANA takes you there.

Since landing into London in 1989, ANA has travelled over 88,043,300 miles between the two capitals and welcomed over 4,351,518 guests on-board. Three decades later, ANA continue to bring guests face-to-face with the true culture of Japan, revealing the wealth of hidden gems and traditions that the island nation has to offer.

To celebrate the anniversary, ANA are collaborating with Yashin Ocean House to create a specially crafted in flight meal, serving guests authentic Japanese cuisine using locally sourced British ingredients and celebrating the two cultures through their food.

Working with famed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and British designers Acumen to launch, ANA are also launching new cabins on their London – Tokyo route. Inspired by Japanese heritage and Western design principles, these new cabins continue the 5-Star comfort and convenience that ANA offer to all guests, showcasing Japan’s culture of hospitality on every flight.

With each of Japan’s lesser known opportunities uncovered and brought to life by ANA, experiencing the true spirit of Japan begins from the moment you step onto your plane.
