FOOD: A Sweet and Ancient Craft
At 27, self-taught Japanese food artist Shinri Tezuka is one of the youngest people still practicing amezaiku, or candy crafting. Tezuka creates edible sculptures by carving and painting delicate lollipops. A dwindling art, Amezaiku dates back hundreds of years and Tezuka hopes his elaborate designs will inspire the next generation to keep the tradition alive.
