DISCOVER: Vans’ Japan-centric Collaboration

Vans has collaborated with sneaker customisers The Flying Hawk Studio and Simple Union to create a capsule range celebrating traditional Japanese iconography. Titled “Series of Craft and Cultural”, the collection consists of six Vans’ classic styles decorated with bold graphics referencing important cultural motifs. For example, the first in the series – the classic slip-on – features a kitsune mask on one foot and a dharma tumbler on the other. Kitsune (Japanese for fox) is the spiritual messenger of the Inari god of agriculture, whilst the dharma tumbler is a symbol of good fortune. In addition to the bold printed graphics, traditional Japanese fabrics are used throughout the range.

Keep an eye on the Simple Union website for news of an August delivery.
