CRAFT: Old Newspaper Brought to Life
In Fuji City, Japanese artist Chie Hitotsuyama breathes new life into old newspaper by creating life-size animal sculptures from tightly coiled strips of discarded paper. Drawing on her family history, Hitotsuyama spends months at a time painstakingly crafting each sculpture, in the very warehouse where her grandfather founded a kumihimo (paper braid) factory.
