DISCOVER: Japanese creativity in the heart of London

Taking up residence in an Art Deco building in the heart of Kensington, Japan House London opened its doors for the first time last week, welcoming Londoners to celebrate the best of Japanese culture.

Home to a temporary exhibition space, events space, library, shop and Japanese restaurant, Japan House London is a vibrant cultural hub where Japanonphiles from the UK and beyond can get a taste of what the country has to offer. Following outposts in Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, the Japan House project is a government-backed initiative aimed at promoting Japan’s multi-faceted culture whilst fostering business around the world.

Under the expert direction of Kenya Hara, Art Director at MUJI, the beautifully designed three-story building is set to host an exciting programme of events, kick-starting with an exhibition celebrating renowned Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. Keep an eye on the website and follow Japan House on Instagram for news of upcoming lectures, film screenings, workshops and more.
