NATURE: Fuji Behind a Sea of Pink

Between April and early June, head to Fuji five lakes to catch a view of Mount Fuji, sitting behind a sea of the region’s famous pink moss. Shibazakura, or phlox moss, bloom in early summer and cover the ground surrounding Lake Motosuku in a thick carpet of pink petals. Celebrating the season, the Fuji Shibazakura Festival invites visitors to walk amidst vast fields of vibrant moss with cameras at the ready for a picture-perfect view of Japan’s most famous peak.
