NATURE: Wild Toyama

Just two-and-a-half hours by train from Tokyo, bordering Ishikawa and Nagano, Toyama Prefecture is one of Japan’s least-discovered corners. Sandwiched between the Sea of Japan and the Hida Mountains, Toyama is home to industrial cities and snow-capped peaks, hydroelectric dams and outside of Russia, the only known glaciers in East Asia.

Attracting a legion of followers on Instagram, local photographer Yasuto Inagaki captures the unique beauty of his home province, where wild nature meets industrial strength.
